Description
Notably one of the more prominent artists of 2022, Steve Lacy returns to music with his second full-length album Gemini Rights. The album was inspired by Lacy breaking up with a past boyfriend, and these songs mine the turbulence of that headspace even as Lacy sings of other lovers. He transitions between feelings of relief, regret, desire, and resentment on this album as he shares his experiences and deep moments with his fans. As opposed to his first studio album Apollo XXI, Lacy utilizes his voice more in this project. The foreground and harmonies set the melancholic vibe of the entire album. Critics say that Lacy’s best work comes out of him when he is working with others, and Gemini Rights seems to prove that once again as he had support from his old friends to aid in production and guitar solos.
