Whereas American Teen was a project with catchy lyrics and average production, Khalid takes his artistic ability to the next level in Free Spirit, With access to more music material and equipment this time around, Khalid was able to create an album full of rich texture and tune.

Khalid explores a different side of himself on the Free Spirit vinyl. He writes about the inevitabilities he faces as a new artist in the industry. In songs such as “Intro” and “My Bad”, you can hear Khalid talks about his past relationships and how his new career has been responsible for many roadblocks in his life. With regard to the album as a whole, we believe that Khalid does a good job of pacing the songs. A few pop hits such as “Better” and “Talk” are present within the album.
