Released in late 2018, i am > i was is the sixth studio album by rapper 21 Savage. Being in the 2016 freshman class, Savage himself put out a crazy amount of material within a few short years. Coming off a huge collab success with Metro Boomin on Without Warning, Savage had some intense pressure on him to top his last work. There are multiple tracks on this 21 Savage vinyl that we still have in rotation today. The album’s opener a lot, out for the night, and ball w/o you just to name a few. Vocal features include J. Cole, Offset, Post Malone, Gunna, Lil Baby, Schoolboy Q, Childish Gambino, and Savage’s cousin Young Nudy.

Savage received both good and bad feedback from this album. Some say his vocals were a step up from his last album, and that it was his most magnetic project by far. 21 Savage blew up with his 3rd studio album, ISSA and from there dominated the rap scene.
